Nils Aden, Harren Group, Hamburg, Germany
Nils Aden brings extensive leadership experience in international ship owning, management, M&A, and transformation projects. As Managing Director, he led the merger of V.Ships and Norddeutsche Reederei H. Schuldt. He also served as CEO at both Zeaborn and E.R. Schiffahrt, where he helped position the company as a global player in ship management.
With more than 25 years in the maritime industry, Nils Aden is a seasoned executive with deep operational and strategic expertise.
Laura Langh-Lagerlöf, Langh Ship, Piikkiö, Finland
Laura Langh-Lagerlöf is Managing Director and co-owner of Langh Group Oy Ab and its subsidiary Langh Ship Oy Ab. With a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Åbo Akademi University, she has been actively involved in the family business from an early age.
She has successfully led the shipping company and played a key role in developing and commercializing scrubber technology. As Commercial Director of Langh Tech Oy Ab, she has helped establish its SOx scrubbers and water treatment systems on over 100 vessels worldwide.
René Menzel, HAMMONIA Reederei, Hamburg, Germany
René Menzel has been Managing Partner of HAMMONIA Reederei since 2006 and holds a 2% ownership stake since 2015.
His maritime background includes six years at sea as Officer and Master, two years as Fleet Manager, and seven years in claims and nautical management at a P&I club, including four years as Nautical Director.
Pedro Miguel Duarte Rebelo de Sousa, SRS Legal, Lisbon, Portugal
Dr. Pedro Rebelo de Sousa is Founding and Managing Partner of SRS Legal, a leading Portuguese law firm. He served as a board member and partner at Simmons & Simmons in London (2004–2009).
Previously, he held leadership roles in the banking sector, including Vice President at Citibank N.A., New York, and Chairman of Fonsecas & Burnay, S.A., overseeing privatizations. He currently also chairs the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance.
Prabhat Kumar Jha, MSC Ship Management Cyprus, Limassol, Cyprus
Prabhat Kumar Jha is CEO and Group Managing Director of MSC Shipmanagement Ltd., Cyprus, managing a fleet of over 300 vessels. Under his leadership, the company has expanded tenfold since 2008, with a crew retention rate of 98%.
A Marine Engineer and former Chief Engineer, he later earned an MBA from the University of Liverpool and completed the Advanced Management Program at IESE Barcelona. He established MSC’s management and crewing hubs in Hong Kong, Cyprus, India, and Ukraine. He also serves on the Board of the Cyprus Chamber of Shipping and is Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Maritime Academy.
ACTING EISAP SECRETARY GENERAL
Pedro Calado, Lisbon, Portugal
Pedro Miguel Amaro de Bettencourt Calado holds a degree in Statistics and Information Management from the New University of Lisbon, a postgraduate degree in Management from the Nova School of Business & Economics, and a degree in Business Management from the Instituto Superior de Gestão de Santarém. He brings over 34 years of professional experience, including 19 years in the private sector in audit, finance, consulting, banking, and business management. The past 15 years have been dedicated to public administration, including key political roles such as Mayor of Funchal (2021–2024), Vice-President of the Regional Government of Madeira (2017–2021), Vice-Mayor of Funchal (2012–2013), and Municipal Councillor (2005–2012), with responsibilities in finance, HR, procurement, legal affairs, culture, and sports.
With a background bridging business and politics, Pedro Calado is also passionate about sports—especially motorsport, his favorite pastime. He is married and father of four children.
Nektaria Retsou, Hellas Confidence Shipmanagement, Piraeus, Greece
Nektaria Retsou is a seasoned maritime professional with 21 years of experience. After earning her degree in Shipping Business Management from the University of Piraeus, she held key roles in operations, technical management, and compliance.
Since 2007, she has focused on safety, security, and environmental systems, serving as DPA, CSO, and SQE Manager. In 2018, she joined Hellas Confidence Shipmanagement as Deputy General Manager and was promoted to General Manager in 2022.
Peter Lehmann, EUROMAR, Berlin, Germany
Peter Lehmann is Maritime expert and Representative Europe for EUROMAR. With his professional background and years of experience in politics and various fields of maritime economics, Peter has been representing EUROMAR and EISAP for almost ten years at European Union and in Berlin, keeping contacts to press and media and coordinates related projects.
Carla Olival, EUROMAR, Piraeus, Greece
Carla Oliver is a Lawyer and Executive Director Greece & Middle East at EUROMAR. Based in Piraeus, Carla is acting as Legal Counsel of European Mar II Lda. & Comandita on behalf of international shipowners for matters related to the International Shipping Register of Madeira (MAR).
She is a founding member and former President of WISTA Portugal and previous Managing Director of Marítimos Manning Portugal, a company that provides industry-leading manning services to shipowners and ship managers.
Robert Lorenz-Meyer, Germany
Born in 1962, Robert Lorenz-Meyer holds a degree from the University of St. Gallen and has over 25 years of experience in the shipping industry. He was Chairman and member of the Supervisory Board of Ernst Russ GmbH & Co., one of Germany’s oldest and most established shipping companies, founded in 1893.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as President of BIMCO, the world’s largest international shipping association, headquartered in Copenhagen, representing over 2,200 members globally. He is currently active as Management Consultant.
